@Leo – an interesting explanation. Do you think slow pouring teapots work OK with Mi Lang Xian dan cong?

I haved tried to infuse Mi Lang Xiang with my Yixing ShuiPing using the top drop technique. My results are on a par with the results that I used with a Gaiwan.

    Thanks

Everyone has the right to his/her opinions. As a member of Teachat for more than 3 years, I am not surprised by MarshalN’s responses.

I suggest that you read more and follow your intuition. I have enjoyed Leo’s articles, and his suggestions have improved my health. I often don’t find the same information from other forums or blogs.

Good luck with your tea adventure.

    Thanks Longjing 43.

I thought that I wasted the valuable leaves.

I agree with “tea soul” that a good gaiwan can do a good job with dancong teas especially the bouquet style.  It is extremely hard to find a genuine Yixing teapot that has all the required features such as clay, spout, handle, lid, etc… on the internet.

For Mi Lan Xiang Dancong, I use a high density Yixing teapot just because I infuse the tea at a low temperature.

    Hi Siu,

Thank you for posting the good news.  Could you please let me know how many new kraft-alu packs can fit in 1 “tea set box”?
    Thanks.

@Siu, thanks for the information about the puerh.  It is a good news since my stock is running low :-).

Regarding the “double baked Wuji Rougui”, yes it is one of the packs that was exposed.  The grassy smell I found after the leaves were infused.  I assumed that the cold air from the air plane I took last week got into the package and changed the tea. I will try again to verify my taste bud.
FYI, I kept all packages in the original paper box; however, I did rearrange them few times when packing for my trip.  Your findings explain a lot, and I strongly believe that you found the root cause.  I will send you a PM when I could verify the other packages.
For now, I am happy  that I don’t need to invest on new tea containers; I like the idea reusing the kraft alu pack.
    Thx Siu

Unfortunately, it was not the case for me.  The sealing of the packages are not intact.  For example, I folded the defect packs 3 times and got the result in the second posted picture.   BTW,  since puerh are not too sensitive to air as Oolong and Green tea are,  I am wondering whether I can still use the “Yiwu Large Leaf”.

I noticed that my “double baked Wuyi Rougui” has a funny smell (a bit grassy.).
    thx.

    Thanks Leo;

I assume that for the above reasons, people often choose gaiwan to brew Phoenix dangcong oolongs.
