In Times of Adversities
Most people were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Some are lucky to live in a more civilised country, where they can continue to work hard to alter their fate, to improve the conditions they live in. There are good times, and there are bad times. Some strike gold mines, others have just enough to go by. Some give their best to receive little, some take and enjoy and return little. C’est la vie. Equality is a state of mind.
Yet there are people who are even less fortunate to have to deal with bare violence in their daily lives. Some in a micro scale that affects a family, a community. Others are trapped a national boundary where rights, dignity, the body and even one’s intelligence are continuously violated upon.
Professors abused by thugs, students abused by police, criminals in alliance with the attorney general, dreams burst in totalitarian penetration…
What is my problem? Take a deep breath, tummy tight, exhale slowly… Let’s do what we have to do. Tomorrow will be what it will be. I will still be me.
Meanwhile, sip a little gongfu cup of silky philosophy, savour the bitter-sweetness of the aftertaste of exhausted romance, withered glory or almost successes. If the aroma or tinkling mouthfeel does not sooth your emotions, let the process do.
May Peace be with You.
