    Internet social networks replaced that long ago. However, the teahouse is still very much a social center. Just look at the “cha lau” in your local Hong Kong: they are still a family gathering place, a bouquet center for weddings and birthdays, and where business entertainments are made. 

    Social issues are discussed where either a more selected segment or a broader audience can be reached, and sometimes can be in greater democratic level than a few persons chatting over a cup of tea.
