Hi everyone. My friends insist that I should drink tea without any sweeteners and that i miss out all the taste.I drink keemun and Darjelling plain and i like it,but i can’t drink Assam or English breakfast without sugar. (i started using honey instead of sugar lately and i don’t really know why haha). So is there a general rule on how should tea be taken? Do you use any sweeteners?
It is really the taste that matters. I have enjoyed Assam without sugar, when prepared the right way, or I do not see any reasons why not to add sugar or milk, or both into a very strong cup of Assam. As for English Breakfast, it is a lower quality tea blended from a few other teas, with the purpose of being consumed with sugar or milk, that is why you want sugar in it.
