I tasted some older raw puerhs and found that they are equally smooth and round like better shu cha, except that one of them have an additional pleasant taste which is quite refreshing and lively. This kind of taste I found in some shu cha too but not as obvious. So is that the natural way of darkening puerh tea which you mentioned in the origin of puer article?
Right on. However, the final quality s hugely affected by not only the original quality of the leaves, but also the way the tea is stored and matured.
