      Dear tea friends,

Does anybody know a reliable taobao or other Chinese online store carrying genuine Yixing clay pots. I am based in Fuzhou, have been educating myself a lot on all sorts of teas but have somewhat neglected teaware. There are several large teamarkets in the city but neither do I want to rely on my own judgement for this nor do I know people here who could help me out. Would be great if you guys have any tips!

Not good experience buying teapots from Taobao. I think too many exaggerations and lies there. There are some that look like specialist shops, but the price tag is too high for me to take the adventure. I think I like seeing and touching the real thing before buying. But it is difficult when you don’t have good experience in judging what is a good pot.

If your are Chinese or Asian looking and can speak Chinese, it is better to look around and listen to people talk and touch a few pots in the tea markets. Increasing experience is good before actually buying.
If you read Chinese, this is an educational site: https://zs.njmuseum.com/
This is one of the bigger site for teapot shops, but I also had bad experience with it. So just looking is good:

I also bought from Leo from his previous shops before. Too bad no chance speaking to him. His quality is very good, but I have not find one in his Tea Hong now that I want to buy yet. I am hoping more will come.

      Thanks all for your feedback!

Just saw that there is an extensive feature about Yixing on the teaguardian. The tea gods have heard my prayers 🙂

Nice links, tea soul! Thank you. It is great to have read Tea Guardian’s special feature before reading the articles in these links. So many contradicting information otherwise!

I am in love with this teapot!

Never seen anything so beautiful in any other shops. I am a newbie and not sure if I would waste such a beautiful if I buy it, but I really want to. Can someone advise me?
I think this is the most beautiful picture:

that teapot very nice, but maybe too expensive for entry level. maybe you buy not so expensive one first to gain experience before buying better one like this. so you dont break it easily or ruin it.

I checked out that website…that is a very nice pot, all the pots I looked at under $120 were stock sold out so I guess I am out of luck 🙁
