ParticipantHi Everyone,
I recently purchased a dark brown, hardwood tea table with a plastic water tray insert. The table is of really good quality, sturdy and built to last. I love it. The water tray is a basic tray with no water spout. Do you have a recommendation on how to connect a hose to plastic tray or a contact to purchase a single tray with hose attachment. I use the table everyday, its the main centerpiece on my tea cart and it houses my gaiwans and pitchers. The problem is, I still find myself spilling tea rinses and warm ups out in the sink to avoid filling the small tray and spilling when emptying. Basically, the table only serves aesthetic purposes. For how much money it was, and how good of a table it is, I feel having a water hose will take its use to the next level and I will have more fun performing “gong fu like” routines warming my cups, pots, etc. Please let me know your thoughts. I am willing to pay for a custom insert or build one…I will take a picture tonight and attach so you can see the table and tray I am working with. Thanks,DB -

ParticipantHey Chawang and Manila,
Thanks for responding, I am really interested to hear what comes out of this discussion and I will grab the dimensions of my current tray after work today. Just to be clear, my tray insert is capable of handling a one person operation of collecting water but the positioning of my prep table on my tea cart, makes it hard for me to simply pull it out to empty. I have to take everything off the table, pick up the entire table, place it on another counter and then pull out the tray to empty. The water hose would be a big convenience and a clever add-on to a really great table. Thanks,David -

ParticipantIt is not so difficult to modify the water tray to make a hose. You can buy a hose, a gas outlet jet, and some silicon with very little money and with a bit of skill, you can have what you want in an hour.
Impossible to find proper spare parts otherwise. I tried. -
