I have been interested in Northern Fujian teas recently: Zhenghe Hong Gong Fu and Zhenghe White teas from Jinping , Jianyang Yin Zhen & Ai Jiao oolong from Jian Ou. I realized these teas all hail from the Nanping area if I’m not mistaken.

This area seems particularly rich in tea culture and history. I was curious to know if you could write an “Origins” feature on Nanping tea history, varietals and processing. Especially interested in the older tea bushes that grow in this area… It seems there are quite a few of these that grow in this region. Any information or source of information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Northern Fujian has been a major tea production area since Tang Dynasty and it still produces a vast array of high quality teas. Zhenghe white peonies and Zhenghe Gongfu are outstanding varieties amongst their peers. Will definitely write more about other ones.
